Advisors

Michelle Cobas

Michelle Cobas has led advertising accounts at a number of top agencies, most recently as the co-head of account management at DAVID The Agency, where she oversaw a number of award-winning campaigns. She has led teams in the development of disruptive, effective communication for such Fortune 500 companies as Burger King, Coca-Cola, KraftHeinz, The Lincoln Motor Company, Heineken and Georgia-Pacific.

Michelle earned a master’s in political communication, and initially worked as a speechwriter after she graduated, but she quickly realized that politics were not for her. It was an easy transition to advertising, she says, because both require the same skill set.

She began her own consulting business in 2017 because she saw an opportunity with the dramatic shift from the big agency retainer model to the need for more nimble, scalable project-based business. Recognizing that small agencies would need consultants, she took advantage of the opportunity, which gives her “constant opportunities to try new things.”

Ann Kono

With over 20 years of experience focused on operational scale and digital transformation at Ares Management, Western Asset Management, and WHN.com, Ann Kono has supported dramatic growth in her roles. In addition to day-to-day operational management, Ann is skilled in corporate strategy, governance, mergers and acquisitions integration, workforce optimization, enterprise risk management, data analytics, and systems implementation. Most recently, Ann has pivoted from internal corporate roles and is now serving in corporate director and operating advisor roles within startups to help with strategic product and business matters.

Ann was recently awarded the Golden Briefcase Award at USC, recognizing her contributions to the communities around Los Angeles. She has served on the board of Junior Achievement of Southern California (JASocal) for 6 years. JASocal’s mission is to teach entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness to 70,000 students in Greater LA per year.

Cynthia Tregillis

After graduating from University of San Francisco Law School, Cynthia moved to Bethesda, MD, where she served as a clerk to superior court judge in Washington D.C. After her clerkship, she began working for a firm in its New York and Washington, D.C. offices, focusing on banking and commercial litigation. After four years on the East Coast, Cynthia moved back to California, where she became a partner at an LA firm, focusing on what would become her area of expertise for the next 20 years: intellectual property. In 2012 Cynthia transitioned to Western Digital, becoming Deputy General Counsel in 2018.
